GIVE ME IGNORANCE OR GIVE ME DEATH
If you’d asked me in 2010 what it would take to get people in Joplin to rally behind a property tax hike to improve public education in the community I would’ve said, “I don’t know—maybe a huge tornado that wipes out 30 percent of the town and most of the schools?”
And I would’ve been wrong.
Of course, we know what the district really wants this money for.
